Lagos Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has commended the Lagos State Government for its remarkable efforts in providing efficient and modern transport infrastructure in the state.
According to a statement signed on Thursday by Samuel O. Adeyemi, Public Relations Executive (PRE), Lagos NIPR the commendation follows the invitation extended by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) to the Lagos Chapter of NIPR to take a ride on the Lagos Rail Mass Transit – Blue Line from Marina to Mile 2.
On Wednesday, 22nd February 2023, more than twenty members of the Chapter took a ride on the Blue Line from Marina to Mile 2, providing an opportunity to experience firsthand the progress made by the Lagos State Government in the development of modern and efficient transport infrastructure.
Speaking after the ride, the Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of NIPR, Mrs. Comfort Obot Nwankwo, expressed her appreciation to the Lagos State Government for the remarkable progress made in the development of the transport sector in the state.
She acknowledged the efforts of the Lagos State Government in providing efficient and affordable transport infrastructure to the people of Lagos State through the newly commissioned rail line.
Mrs. Nwankwo called for a partnership between the Chapter and the Lagos State Government to promote the unique and picturesque scenery along the blue line, which will create memorable experiences for passengers and promote the tourism potential of Lagos State.
She emphasized that the curated scenic route will offer a unique opportunity to showcase the beauty and diversity of the state to the world, thereby attracting more tourists and boosting the state’s economy.
According to her, “The Lagos NIPR is committed to working with the Lagos State Government to achieve this goal by using its expertise in public relations to promote the scenic routes along the blue line. This partnership will not only benefit the residents of Lagos but also the tourists who will be able to experience the natural beauty of Lagos while using the rail system.”
The Immediate Past President of the Institute, Dr. Rotimi Oladele, who was part of the trip, expressed his satisfaction with the ride, noting that the development of efficient transport infrastructure is a critical component of economic growth and development.
